New Grant Opportunity for Tribes and Native Nonprofits

Our friends at the Notah Begay III Foundation (NB3F) are seeking applicants for a grant making initiative that seeks to address childhood obesity and Type 2 Diabetes in Native communities.

The Promising Program Grants are designed to help Native American controlled nonprofit organizations partner with Native communities to strengthen existing youth focused physical activity and healthy nutrition programs and build capacity for program evaluation. NB3F will award up to 12 grants worth up to $40,000 each.

The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. Mountain time on Oct. 28.

NB3F will host an informational webinar at 1 p.m. Eastern time on Oct. 2 for interested applicants. Participation is encouraged. The deadline to register is Sept. 30.

Applicants will be accepted from groups throughout the United States, but preference will be given to those located in three regions: the Southwest (New Mexico and Arizona), the Upper Midwest (Minnesota and Wisconsin) and the Southern Plains (Oklahoma and Texas).
