The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) launched the Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) in 2010. This program was designed to reduce obesity, tobacco use, and exposure to secondhand smoke. To explain the short-term and long-term benefits of the CPPW investments, they have released a new article, Community-Based Interventions to Decrease Obesity and Tobacco Exposure and Reduce Health Care Costs: Outcome Estimates From Communities Putting Prevention to Work for 2010-2020.
