Time is Running Out

There’s less than a week left to tell the U.S. Department of Agriculture that you support improved nutrition standards in public schools.

As many of you already are aware, the USDA is currently considering implementing new nutrition guidelines for school meals, ones that would require schools to offer more fruits, vegetables and whole grains, while also cutting back on unhealthy fats and added sugar.

The USDA is taking comments on the new standards through April 13. If you haven’t already, be sure to tell the USDA that our nation’s students — including the 23 million kids and teens who are overweight or obese — deserve to be offered a healthy meal at school each day.

P.S. If you want your community members to participate in the comment period too, please get in touch with us!
