Job Opening: Program Director to Manage Sustainable Transportation Projects

Our friends at WalkBoston — an advocacy organization that works with stakeholders to increase the number of walkable communities throughout Massachusetts — are seeking a program director to manage several ongoing programs.

(As astute Inside Track readers will recall, we profiled WalkBoston back in October.)

The program manager will work with a team of advocates to develop and improve walkable communities. The program director will work in close coordination with bicycle, transportation, health, planning and environmental advocates to expand WalkBoston’s efforts in urban, suburban and rural communities.

Requirements include 5 to 8 years of “increasingly responsible professional experience;” a master’s degree in a relevant field such as urban planning, public policy or education; experience in reading and interpreting design plans; experience in development of project proposals and/or grant proposals; and project management experience.

The ideal candidate would also “have great enthusiasm for [WalkBoston’s] mission, a strong commitment to walkable communities, and an interest in a long-term position.” Commission ranges from $50,000 to $60,000, plus benefits.

Applications are due by Dec. 15. Click here for more information and details to apply.
