CDC Opens Grant Opportunity to Combat Obesity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced funding for a new program to combat obesity. The program is designed to allow colleges and universities to sponsor intervention strategies that promote physical activity and nutrition, as well as combat obesity, heart disease and diabetes.

Colleges and universities in the 24 states with counties designated “high obesity areas” are eligible for the program. $4.7 million per year is available for up to six institutions as a part of the program.

The application deadline is July 23 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. You can read the full listing and apply online at grants.gov.
