Congratulations to the 2016 Hubsmith Safe Routes Champion Award Winner!

This week at the Safe Routes to School National Conference, Safe Routes to School National Partnership announced the winner of the 2016 Hubsmith Safe Routes Champion. Nora Cody, of Oakland, California is the winner of this year’s award.

The Hubsmith Award is named in memory of Deb Hubsmith, the founding director of the Safe Routes to School National Partnership. Nora is honored with this award because of her visionary leadership in the Safe Routes movement. According to the National  Partnership, “In the nearly ten years that she has been leading Alameda County's Safe Routes to School program, Nora has overseen the expansion of the program from 2 schools to more than 160 schools in 15 school districts and has built a broad network of Safe Routes to School champions.”
