This holiday season, loved ones will gather around their dinner tables to share meals, memories and gratitude. But millions of others where we live, work, go to school and worship lack the access and resources to meet their most basic food needs.

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), the nation’s largest anti-hunger program, provides food assistance to families facing food insecurity. million people in the U.S. participate in SNAP, and two-thirds of all participants are either children, elderly adults or people with disabilities. SNAP impacts families’ health, educational attainment and economic self-sufficiency.

Voices for Healthy Kids provides funding for campaigns seeking to implement SNAP incentive programs, which provides extra fruits and vegetables to SNAP participants, as well as technical assistance and training to campaigns. In the last couple of years, the incentive funding from Voices has helped five states increase fruit and vegetable purchases
