Baltimore Healthy Kids’ Meal Bill Passed! Largest American city to pass such legislation

Congratulations, Baltimore! Last week, the City Council unanimously approved legislation that will make healthier drink options the norm for Baltimore families when ordering restaurant kids’ meals. Mayor Pugh is expected to sign the legislation soon.

baltimore.jpgThe bill ensures that water, milk, and 100% fruit juice will become the default drink options for all restaurants kids’ meals in the city of Baltimore. Changing the default will help to change the social norm around kids and sugary drinks.

Baltimore becomes the largest American city to pass such legislation and the first on the east coast. This is a major victory for the city of Baltimore as it moves closer towards improving the health of all children by making healthier choices easier to make!
