worldobesityday.jpgThe number of adults suffering from overweight and obesity continues to rise. On current trends, 2.7 billion adults worldwide will suffer from overweight and obesity by 2025. Untreated, obesity is responsible for a significant proportion of diseases including heart disease, diabetes, liver disease and many types of cancer.

This #WorldObesityDay join in by calling for urgent action from governments, health service providers, insurers and philanthropic organizations to prioritize investment in tackling obesity. This means investment in early intervention and prevention.
