Job Openings for Transportation Projects

If you are looking to land a job that would focus on transportation policy, two new job openings might interest you.

Our friends at the Safe Routes to School National Partnership are seeking an Operations Manager to ensure the “smooth operations” of the organization. The manager would be charged with overseeing a $3 million budget and 25 staff members, along with carrying out human resources, financial and event planning tasks. The manager also would oversee technical support on programs such as Salesforce, Google Apps, Dropbox and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, strong technical ability, experience managing membership databases and three years experience on similar projects. The job location is flexible, but additional consideration will be given to candidates who live near Washington, D.C. or San Francisco.

Applications are due by Feb. 1. Click here for more information and to apply.

Meanwhile, Easter Seals is seeking a senior director for its Transportation Group. The Easter Seals Transportation Group provides grants to efforts designed to provide accessible transportation for people with disabilities.

The senior director would oversee grants managed within the group to “ensure that tasks are done on time and within budget.” In addition, the director would serve as program director for certain grants, depending on the needs of the group.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s degree and 10 years of equivalent relevant work experience. In addition, applicants should have a minimum of 10 years experience in program administration and management and five years working with disability-related issues.

The Easter Seals play an active role in the obesity movement by working to help people with disabilities become physically active even when facing challenges such as finding accessible activities and facilities.
