Mini-Grants Available to Support School Breakfast Programs

The School Superintendents Association (AASA) is offering mini-grants for schools to help supplement their breakfast programs. Applications are due on September 26, 2014.

Recipients of the mini-grants, which range from $2,000 to $10,000, will receive support for breakfast infrastructure (kiosks, storage, etc.), as well as technical assistance from the AASA and its members to implement “alternative breakfast strategies.”

To be eligible for the grants, a school’s superintendent must be a member of the AASA and the district must have a 50 percent or greater eligibility overall for free and reduced-price meals, among other things. A full list of eligibility requirements is available in the application.
