Grants Available for Native American Communities

The Association of American Indian Physicians (AAIP) is offering three $5,000 awards to Tribal Health Departments to help create healthier communities. Applications will be accepted until December 15, 2014.

To qualify, a proposal must include sustainable ideas for the adaptation or implementation of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Winnable Battle Strategies or The Guide to Preventive Services. The CDC’s Winnable Battle strategies are public health-focused initiatives that create a large impact on health, including the fields of nutrition, physical activity and obesity. The Guide to Community Preventive Services is a resource to help communities create policies that improve health and prevent disease. This resource also includes strategies for nutrition, physical activity and obesity.

More information on these resources and additional requirements is available in the application.
