Deadline Approaching for Fuel Up to Play 60 Funding

Schools have until June 4 to apply for up to $4,000 in funding to implement Fuel Up to Play 60, the popular in-school nutrition and physical activity program overseen by the National Football League, National Dairy Council and U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Funds for Fuel Up to Play 60 are designed to help schools jumpstart and sustain healthy nutrition and physical activity improvements on their campus. Applying for the funding is free, but schools must participate in the National School Lunch Program and have an adult program adviser registered on the Fuel Up to Play 60 website in order to qualify.

More than 73,000 schools are now a part of the Fuel Up to Play 60 programs, which helps schools implement projects and initiatives to help kids eat more nutrient-rich food and take part in increased physical activity. The program’s online “Playbook” includes ideas for healthy eating and activity, and Fuel Up to Play 60 also offers free tools, resources and instructions for schools to achieve success.
