“Dreams Can Get Lost if our Kids Are Not Healthy”

When it comes to the childhood obesity epidemic, not many groups have been hit harder than Native American children. According to one study, between 40 percent and 50 percent of Native American children are overweight or obese by the age of 10—a much higher rate than the national average of almost 32 percent.

The Notah Begay III (NB3) Foundation is an organization focused on combating childhood obesity and its related illnesses in tribal communities, and their new PSA aims to raise awareness about these issues and promote health and physical activity for all children.

“Right now in our country, one-in-three kids are obese. We must do better,” said Begay. “Dreams can get lost if our kids are not healthy.”
