Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act: What’s the Impact on Active Places?

On January 27, volunteers and staff from the American Heart Association, National Complete Streets Coalition and Safe Routes to School National Partnership hosted a webinar that walked through the key elements of the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act (FAST Act), providing attendees with a deeper understanding of what was included within this landmark legislation and the impact it will have over the next 5 years on Safe Routes to School programs, Complete Streets policies, and overall infrastructure for walking and biking.

Presenters highlighted what states and local governments can do as a result of the FAST Act.  In addition, presenters highlighted the need for advocacy efforts to build in stronger equity components into transportation policy. Visit the FAST Act information page to view the presentation slides, an FAQ as well as a multitude of additional resources. The webinar was recorded and will be available through this page soon.
