Notah Begay III Foundation Offers Capacity Building Grants

 

The Notah Begay III Foundation opened their Capacity Building Grant RFP and will be accepting applications until Friday, September 12 at 5:00 p.m. MST.

The Native Strong: Healthy Kids, Healthy FuturesCapacity Building Grant aims to support two types of initiatives about childhood obesity in Native American children:

  • Community health assessments, to look into the reasons and causes behind childhood obesity and Type 2 diabetes, and
  • Community planning and capacity building, to support community-led actions and collaborative efforts in addressing childhood obesity and Type 2 diabetes.

Applicants are welcome from all fifty states, however the foundation is looking particularly for applicants from the Southwest (New Mexico, Arizona), the Upper Midwest (Minnesota, Wisconsin), and the Southern Plains (Oklahoma, Texas).
