Alliance for a Healthier Generation Unveils “Swap Your Snacks” Campaign

The countdown is on!

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Smart Snacks in Schools standards are scheduled to go into effect on July 1, and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation is celebrating with a special campaign to help schools implement the changes.

Each week, the Alliance will share a new tool or resource to help schools swap their snacks. On April 16, for example, the Alliance unveiled 12 success stories from schools across the country that already have made healthy changes to the snacks and beverages they offer to students in the cafeteria, through fundraising and even classroom celebrations.  On April 23, “Smart Snack Pins” that can be used to spread the word on Pinterest were released.

The Alliance also is offering schools the opportunity to reach out with any questions they might have about the upcoming standards by calling 1-888-KID-HLTH.
