Experts Say Kids & Teens Need Screening

According to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, children and teens should be screened for obesity when visiting doctors. The panel suggests that screening should begin at age 6 and be advised to attend weight management courses if needed.


kiddoctor.PNGThe obesity for U.S. children is at about 17 percent, but that number is increasing for minorities. African American girls and Hispanic boy’s obesity rate is higher than the national average.
