Do You Have Food Day Plans Yet?

Our friends at the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) are getting ready for the second annual Food Day event on Oct. 24. What are you doing to mark the occasion?

The nationwide event is designed to spread the word about the importance of healthy, affordable and sustainable food. Local events are being held across the country to raise awareness, including a special discussion on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., studying how the country’s food system could look by 2050.

CSPI has listed five priorities for Food Day, including: promoting safer, healthier diets; supporting sustainable and organic farms; reducing hunger; reforming factory farms to protect the environment; and supporting fair working conditions for food and farm workers.

You can get involved by finding an event in your hometown or touching base with Food Day organizers in your community.
