The bill was introduced in the Arizona legislature on January 18th, 2018. SB1245 appropriates $400,000 of the state general funds to the Arizona Department of Economic Security, the SNAP implementing agency in Arizona, for the administration of a produce incentive program for SNAP enrollees to purchase Arizona-grown fruits and vegetables.

This is the first state investment of its kind in Arizona. This win was the result of a large network of partners actively engaged in advocacy efforts from across the state, strong media presence, and the cross-sector engagement from farmers, health care, and the community!
