National Fitness Foundation Lifts Up Hundreds of Fitness Ideas through PE Innovation Challenge

The National Fitness Foundation recently announced an update from their PE Innovation Challenge, a funding opportunity through DonorsChoose.org in which teachers were invited to submit their most innovative physical activity and fitness ideas.

pechallenge.pngThrough matching donations from the Foundation, Phase One of the Challenge helped to fully fund more than 1,017 physical activity and fitness projects, reaching more than 237,000 students and 800 teachers in schools across the country. February kicks off the second phase of the Challenge, in which expert judges will review the top projects and decide which will ones will be eligible to receive a DonorsChoose.org gift card up to $10,000! Chair of American Heart Association's Physical Activity Council, Dr. Felipe Lobelo, will serve on the panel alongside experts from Nike, Target and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation.
