What inspired you to start working on childhood obesity?

As a fitness and nutrition advocate, I have a passion for helping others and have made it a lifestyle to promote healthy living. I am constantly looking for ways to encourage and educate my friends, family and community about living an active and nutritious life. I am inspired to join the movement against childhood obesity, because I know that we can make a positive difference by simply educating and increasing access to convenient and accessible smart food choices.

How are you helping to reverse childhood obesity?

I am a nutrition activist and health and wellness partner in the community. It is my objective to educate children and families about nutrition. My goal is to teach children about healthier food and drink options so that they can bring it home to their families to essentially encourage parents to make healthier eating habits.

What’s your biggest accomplishment so far in helping reduce childhood obesity?

My greatest accomplishment is becoming h.u.m.a.n. (helping unite mankind and nutrition). I believe in the power of giving back, with h.u.m.a.n., we focus on creating easy nutrition everywhere. We increase access points to healthful foods and drinks through 100 percent healthy automated retail, in order for people to live healthy.

Who is your role model in your work?

My role model is Kevin Durant, because he is a passionate leader that inspires me to use my life and gifts to help people other than myself.

What healthy snacks did you enjoy growing up? What game or sport did you play growing up?

My favorite sport that I played growing up was football, and I still do! Also, my favorite snacks were hummus and natural peanut butter.
