Help AHA Earn a Spot at SXSWi 2015

The American Heart Association (AHA) has proposed a presentation called “Connected Health: Being Social Helps Your Heart,” for South by Southwest (SXSW) 2015–and they need your help to make it a reality.

SXSW is a festival and conference for all things music, film and interactive; SXSWi is specifically the interactive part. People and organizations are encouraged to submit proposals for panels and presentations to take place during the conference.

By 2016, there will be a projected 10 billion mobile devices in use worldwide, and emerging technology presents innovative ways to reach adolescents and impact their lives earlier to make their lives longer. The American Heart Association’s presentation would feature their CEO Nancy Brown discussing the power and growth of health technology, the barriers we face and how once the barriers are overcome, better health can be achieved through going mobile.

The presentation will focus on 5 key questions:

  • How connected should you be to your own health?
  • What are the latest and greatest innovations in the mobile health technology space?
  • Is there evidence that these platforms and tools are working and making a difference?
  • Where is mobile health technology going in the future?
  • What are the challenges you foresee in the mobile health space?

Each submission is voted on by the general public (you!), and then the SXSW staff and Advisory Board make the final decision on who will get to present at the conference.

You can learn more about the proposed presentation and submit your vote for the American Heart Association at http://bit.ly/voteaha. Hurry–voting ends on September 6.
